History of Bottecchia Bicycles

The Bottecchia company dates back to 1909.

 

Its founder can be considered Teodoro Carnielli, an artisan from Vittorio Veneto, who was engaged in the repair and manufacture of bicycles.

 

He supported the local cycling association for a long time, and then became its president.

 

After becoming president of the association, he notices a talented young racer, Ottavio Bottecchia.

 

Ottavio Bottecchia was born on August 1, 1894 in San Martino di Calle Umberto.

 

The legendary Italian cyclist who went down in the history of world cycling as the first Italian to win the Tour de France in 1924.

 

The next year he repeats his success.

 

In 1926, Carnielli proposes to Bottecchia to start manufacturing bicycles under his name. Bottecchia agrees and in time Carnielli becomes Bottecchia.

In the period from 1930 to 1940. the staff increases to almost 100 people.

 

The company produces Bottecchia bicycles, Trionfo motorcycles, later Vittoria.

 

Currently Bottecchia Cicli Srl produces bicycles under 4 brands: Bottecchia Reparto CorseTempo LiberoBeGreen and Graziella.

 

The company offers a wide range of bicycles from professional road racing and MTB bikes to elegant city bikes, kids' and e-bikes.

 

In 2012, Bottecchia acquires Graziella, which manufactures modern folding bicycles.

 

Reparto Corse is the main division of the company that manufactures professional racing bikes, both road and MTB, but also provides bicycles for recreational cycling.

 

The employees of the division have collected the most innovative technologies and materials to create an exclusive and elegant bike design.

 

Collaboration with professional teams has enabled Bottecchia's R&D division to produce unique high performance frames.
