History of Canyon Bicycles

Some CANYON Bicycle PDF Manuals above the page.

Canyon is a German bicycle manufacturer from Koblenz. Founded in 1985 by brothers Roman and Frank Arnold.

Their first company name was "Radsport Arnold" and was in the business of supplying parts for road bikes.

The first bike under the Canyon brand was released in 1996. Radsport Arnold uses a direct online bike sales strategy.

In 1998, the first full suspension was released and in 2001 Radsport Arnold changed its name to Canyon Bicycles GmbH which marked the final transition to the status of a bicycle manufacturer.

In 2005, the lightest racing bike at that time, weighing 3.7 kilograms, was released.

In 2006, a racing bike with disc brakes weighing 6.8 kilograms was released - corresponding to the lowest weight allowed in the UCI Pro Tour.

In 2007, the company's corporate design won the European Design Award

Europeans consider Canyon to be a serious manufacturer with a good reputation.

In Switzerland, bicycles from this manufacturer are produced under the Purg Cycling brand.

Canyon bicycles are driven by the once Russian and now Swiss professional road cycling team.
