Felt began its history in the 80's thanks to Jim Felt. And, characteristically, the first creation of the founder was a triathlon bicycle, which featured the famous racer Johnny O'Mara.

Interestingly, both Jim and Johnny are originally from the motorcycle world. O’Mara used triathlon competitions to improve his fitness, and Felt was a high-level mechanic who knew three specifics.

This is how the history of the powerful Felt cycling brand began - with motorsport and triathlon. Jim was given the opportunity to implement many innovative ideas (which he had dreamed of before) about landing a racer and improving aerodynamics.

This is what led to the vector of development and specialization of the company on road bikes and cars for triathlon.

Actually, as a separate brand Felt started working in 1994. The main concept was the production of only top bicycles for racing.

But since 2001, thanks to Bill Duhring and Michael Mullmann, the brand has gained new life and expanded the model range to the usual list, which includes even city bikes and BMX.

In total, more than 140 Felt bicycle models are sold worldwide.

Until 2006, Felts specialized in bicycles with aluminum frames in the lower and middle price range, and from 2006 began to produce carbon frames at a price of 2 to 5 thousand dollars.

2017 is important for the brand, as new lines of FR (aero-highway) and VR (endurance highway, the VR-series were in our review) were launched, while the F, V and Z series models have gone down in history.

And there are lines IA, B, AR, which occupy leading positions in their classes.

By the way, what Felt can be criticized for is the naming of models. Even a person in the subject will not immediately understand what type of bike is hidden, for example, by the abbreviation IA.
