History of Centurion Bicycles

The history of the Centurion bicycle company begins in 1976 in Germany.

The company, headquartered in Magstatt, initially sold Centurion frames and Japanese components.

In 1980, the head of the company saw the first mountain bike in the United States. He decided that the Centurion brand should be the first to launch mountain bikes in Europe.

So, in 1980, the first mountain bike in Germany came off the assembly lines of the factory.

In 1984, the company once again became a pioneer in the world of the European cycling industry.

Centurion introduced the first model of the Accordo hybrid bike this year. It was especially liked by fans of tourist cycling, because on this bike it was possible to move comfortably both on the highway and off-road.

1994 saw the first Centurion triathlon bike. It was on the Centurion Overdrive bike that a record was set in Iron Man competitions, which no one could beat for a long time.

By 1996, full suspension bicycles were gaining popularity. Together with them, all the riders began to experience the problems of swinging the double suspensions.

Centurion was one of the first to fight it and released the No Pogo bike. The result was the victory in the cycling competition and the recognition of a large number of cyclists.

In 2000, Taiwan's largest bike manufacturer Merida began cooperation with Centurion.

The fruits of this collaboration were the LRS suspension bikes, which quickly became popular with cyclists.

Today the company Centurion has not slowed down and continues to develop actively: products are being improved, production is expanding, modern technologies are being used.

Bicycles of this brand are popular not only in Germany and Europe, but also in other countries.

In the brand's catalog, you can find almost any bike, from budget models to professional bikes.

In Germany, Centurion bikes compete successfully with brands such as CubeMerida and Focus.

Overall, we can say that Centurion bikes have a reasonably good value for money.
